I haven't put them on yet but I got a sweet set of Sanderson block-hugger ceramic coated headers. Craftsmanship is awesome. I can't wait to get them on.

Sanderson BB3's: 68-72 Chevelle; 3/4 length; big block; 1 7/8 primaries; 3" collector.
Sanderson BB8's: 73-87 Chevy truck; 3/4 length; big block; 1 7/8 primaries; 3" collector.

I used the Chevelles but now they offer the truck headers that might fit even better. They cleared everything as installed but I shaved about 1/8" off of the pass side frame rail for 'insurance' clearance (BBC's are known for torque twist).

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

I wrote them and this is what they said:

Looking for 3/4 length headers for 67-72 chevy 1/2 ton truck with a Big

Now, maybe they would work with a little clearancing... I don't know. At this point I'd probably go with the Chevelle headers.

Re: More problems to over come....

Sanderson headers made for 67 to 72 trucks. I'm running a full set of Headman Headers at present and they scrape coming in the drive way. Putting in a wood bed floor at the moment but when that's finished there going on.

esll.

I know the lowest part of my exhaust is where the 3" pipe bends/curves to provide clearance for the oil filter & then makes the transition back to the mufflers.

The collectors are above the bottom of the oil pan (above the bottom of the frame rails).
I'm using GM pre-72 BB towers & motor mounts in the 'stock' BB tower location.

I'm off next week. I've been asked by more than one board member for some exhaust pics so I'll see if I can snap a couple of the top/bottom side of my RestoRod. If you're not in a rush. maybe this will help.....
