Ls-1 Swap Question-for Those Who Have Done One
For those of you who have swapped an LS-1 engine into their 73-87 era Truck; what type of accelerator cable did you use. I have been told from another website to use the original "Camaro" style accelerator cable that this engine is out of, but that it "may" be too short for my application. I would rather ask around then spend the money from GM for a part that doesn't work.
Also FYI, the Corvette fuel rail covers that go on the LS-1 engines fit a little snug on the driver's side on my 1981 Blazer but do go on. They are a little tight underneath my brake booster. At first I thought I would have to cut it some. |

just run a straight cable like srub did...I think it was srub...*shrugs* that way its as long as YOU need...

Who is Shrubs? I would like to get one that is like the original one that was used in the 73-87 Trucks so the accelerator cable hole in the firewall will be the same.

what he did was pick up some small cable about the same size as that which is already used...and just trimmed it to the length he needed... just use the old hookup from in the cab, and the plastic runner and you should be aight. then run it to the length you need (after installin the damn ls1...) and viola! you are pimpin

I took the A/C Compressor off because I have a "topless Blazer" that I don't plan on putting the top back onto. I swear it would fit though. There is tons of room between the frame rails. I am trying to get my fuel lines, transmission lines, and PS lines done now. Got my other Corvette fuel rail cover today to really make the swap look a little better.

I know I have to post some on here. I just hate having to upload them somewhere else and then linking them to the site I use to host em.
I still think I am going to try and use a 99-Up Chevy Truck accelerator cable. Making a cable just sounds like a pain. I want the engine compartment to look as stock as possible. |

By far the easiest will be the lokar cable, cut to length and install should take less than an hour. plus they work and look sweet. THey come in black too if you are wanting it to blend in. |

Agree LOKAR Good people---they will build what you need, if they don't have it. They built me a cruise control cable for my 91 TPI mod.
