My ebay listing
Ok, why havent I got any bids on this? Am I asking to much? I cant really afford to sell it any cheaper. Maybe the pictures or the description is not detailed enough? Give me some of your thoughts on this, I thought this would sell easy.

Well they are very cool looking but you can get a brand new full gauge dash, (meaning the vacumn gauge too) for $400.00. Maybe that's the problem. Other than that I don't know.

Price isn't out of line at all. It's just close enough to Christmas that most guys are spending their money on presents for others, not to many wives will buy something like that for their hubby. And I know there's a market for white face gauges, but it's not a real big one. I think it's mainly a matter of timing. Here's a link for a professionally restored black face for $450 http://www.bowtiebits.com/Catalog/ga...te_1072022.htm

I sell on ebay all the time and it may be to close to Christmas for it to sell. If it doesn't sell you may want to relist in a few weeks. If i were you i would list it at a low starting bid with a reserve and let it build. I have had better luck that way. I hope you sell it. Good luck and Merry Christmas!!! TH.

ILUVJUNK,
You can get a new one here for $450.00. They went up $50.00 since I bought mine. But sometimes they have a sale on them they told me. http://www.kennystrucks.com/

your auction
what i think you should do is to put the first bid at like $100 or $50 but keep a reserve of the $350 some people like me are not too keen on a big first bid

i think you did a nice job but black and white looks too generic to me. The needles need to be orange. I think silver or a different shade of white would tone it down. That white is TOO white. Try the orange needles and I think they will sell.

I saw your listing on E-BAY, and I'm sorry they're not selling.
This is a total personal opinion and we all know what opinions are like, But I agree with c10CRAZY, I think they are too white. I think the idea is great, and you have apparently did a lot of work. Don't give up though, try a different color on E-bay or post two of them in the same auction and give a choice. and yes, lower the beginning bid with a reserve. I also find the CHRISTMAS time to maybe be wrong, I know my family won't buy me anything for Christmas for my truck because they are afraid I will sell the truck and lose the gift in the sale. (that's why I didn't get the DAKOTA DIGITAL I wanted) I have had my truck for 16 years and have no plans on selling it, I have too much invested, probably couldn't get near it out of it. RON |

The description is way off. It looks like the guy that is selling the decal one with a reserve of 160 and yours are the same. From the description most guys would not even open yours because they saw the decal guys for cheaper.
Maybe advertise they are painted and not vinyl

I think the price is OK, I got a kit like yours with the auto-meter gauges for $300,
Try as suggested, list it with a lower price and have your reserve at your price, it creates more interest. |
