Ok heres tha deal

I have a 67 that the PO converted to 5-lug, but when he did he made it 5 x 4 3/4 instead of 5x5

So I want to change that, the rear is no big deal cuz I'll either swap rear ends or axles

But the front is where my questions come in
I found some sweet look'n 6-lug wheels today at a good price, so now I'm think'n bout go'n back to 6-lug

But I still want disc brakes, what do I need to do this

Please steer me in the direction I need to go, thanks Matt

Good question.... 5 x 4 3/4 is a car bolt pattern as far as I now. I would think the spindles would be different and wouldn't except the new rotors That's just my thought

No.... Because a 6 lug 73 -87 is a 4x4 truck with a solid front axle.

The reason I wanna find out if some stock 6-lug rotors will fit , is so I can save a few bucks

If there aren't any that fit, it's ok cuz I'll just buy the $130 rotors from CPP

to do off the shelf 6 lug rotors, you will have to do this:

using 88-92 LIGHT DUTY 3/4 ton.

otherwise, you will have to use ECE or CPP 6 lug rotors. I used an '85, with CPP rotors, no probs for me. woulda done the 3/4 ton one, if I knew about it at the time, just cause it is all -off the shelf-parts.

as for the initial part of the post, you can buy kits that use full-size car brake parts adapted to our trucks with brackets and wheel bearing adaptors, sounds like what the PO did.

My guess is that having a car bolt pattern says your spindles are sized wrong for truck-pattern rotors. That will make having the calipers in the right position a difficult guess. Truck rotors should be 12-inches in diameter. Car rotors may only be 10 or 11 inches. If that is the case, you can see why the caliper won't let the rotor be usable. Measure your current rotor to be sure that the rotor you buy will work on your spindles. You also need to know the O.D. of the spindle....hope you succeed in your task.

People take short cuts to save money, only to cause someone else to have to spend a bunch to fix it.

I will be pulling a rotor off my parts truck, so I can take it down to my local parts store and see if a 73-87 or 88-98 6-lug rotor will intercahnge

im currently swapping mine to 5 lug 5x5 , looking for wheels i almost wish i was going 5x4.5 just for the wheel selection, im picky about wheels and havnt found any 5x5 that i like for under $2000, can find all kind of 4.5's though.
