Choking truck
I gotta 84 Silverado with the granny gear 4spd and when im trying to accelerate in 2nd or 3rd it starts acting like its choking or gagging on something until i ease off the gas a bit.
Is it just out of tune or what?

Re: Choking truck
swap filters, and if that doesnt do it...then you need to rebuild the carb :/ that was the problem with my 83 a while back at the track...kept dumping mad hard. I put a brand new edel 1406 on cuz that rochester I was running was shot breh.

Re: Choking truck
change the fuel filter...if i use the stock fuel filter,,what they say im supposed to use in my truck,,it will only get so many miles one it before it goes bad..when i had my bussiness i was replacing that stupid filter 3 times a summer, last year i change sizes to onew a little shorter and have had no problem..but with the stock size, it colaspes on it self and blocks the fuell...nobody i know has ever seen one do that..when i pull the motor, im tking the filter out completely and putting an inline filter on it..
anyway, when you buy a stock filter, compare it to others, and get one just a tad shorter..

Re: Choking truck
verify that the choke on the carb is wide open when it's warm. it should not be 'floppy' either. should be firmly wide open. If not there are a few things that can cause that. crossy

Re: Choking truck
That would be the best way to do is take out the stock filter and put in an clear inline filter
