The spiral oil line on the back of the engine... when i pulled on it, it just snapped into pieces... I put a plug in it for now, but where can I get the factory spiral line at?

If it's the one going to the guage then most of the BB vendors will probably have it.

I replaced mine with copper from the local NAPA store, they also had the little tapered fittings

im good up to the gauge, it was just this spiral that screwed to this piece then to the back of the motor... I took it the auto store but they had no clue what it was... I figured it was spiral for a reason and like to get the same to replace

you should be able to spiral it yourself, probably just that way so it can flex with the engine twist. Just like the brake lines off of the master cylinder.

Probably can just wrap it around a soup can...or better yet a beer can.

I think it's just 1/8" copper tubing. Any parts store should have the tubing and fittings to get you going.

You can use 1/8th copper with ferrel fittings. Most hardware stores carry this. They may have been cut to a certain length for all applications. the extra length was coiled. The coil also helps with engine movement.

Copper will work, but copper work hardends and will get brittle from vibration over time. I would try to find steel line myself.

Most of the after-market gauges come with plastic tubing, but either way any parts store should have copper, steel or plastic

Go to the parts store and get 2 feet of copper tube 1/8'', get 2 ferules and associated nuts as well as 2 feet of vaccum hose 11/32 or what ever will slide snugly over the copper. Wrap the copper around a can, bottle etc to get the tight curve the factory had, slide a nut and the ferule onto one end and feed the vac. hose down and around the copper leaving about 2-3 inches of copper exposed at each end- if you really want it to be as original Rick's first generation camaro has the correct white stripe vacuum line for $1 a foot- slide on the other nut and ferule and connect one end the the fitting at back of block and the other to the junction fitting that goes to the gauge. This is like the original (copper instead of steel) and will last for another 20-40 years- be careful not to over tighten the ferule nuts and you are good to go.

I had to replace mine with a plastic tubing kit. it comes with all of the brass fittings and whatnot, and is long enough to reach to the gauge if you need it to. it looks similar to this one:

I was working on an oil gauge (underdash unit) and the factory fittings did not fit the gauge. I went to my local Lordco and every other parts jobber in town with no success and I bumped into a guy and he told me to try one of the big truck companies. So off I go to "MACK TRUCKS" parts and service. First off they had everything that I needed fittings copper line you name it, didn't have to buy a kit and the service was great. I've tried to find just buy fittings or copper line before and couln't so now I just go to my local big truck stop.
