autometer fuel guage
I am having trouble understanding how to wire my new autometer fuel guage. I understand the power and the ground, then it says run a wire straight to the fuel sender? Is this the brown wire that is pluged into the fuse box? Also how do you test the sender wire? Do I set my multi meter to ohms then touch a ground and touch the other lead to the signal wire? And I should get a reading between 0-90?
Thanks for any help

Re: autometer fuel guage
You've got the right idea! But I just ran a completely new wire from gauge to sender.

Re: autometer fuel guage
I may just do that it also says make sure sender is grounded is it grounded to the tank by contact then tank to body by contact? So All I have to run is wire from tank to guage from the same post the wire is now on sender?
Not sure if that made any sense.

Oh man
Real fun, I put gauges on my 62,there was a wire to ground the sender to the cab. On my 70 there is a metal tab that looks like a retainer for the in cab tank. I got the gauge to work but not accurately.
