Question What Is This?

This is on my firewall by my brake booster. It has a Vac line on one side and wires on the other. Thanks 1980 k10

Weird...my 80 C10 doesn't have that... I wonder if it has to do with yours being a 4 wheel drive

that is the vacuum switch for the TCC. WHen it senses a loat, it will disengage the TCC.

My next dumb question... Should this vac line go to manifold vacuum, like where the vac line goes for the transmission? I failed to mark this one when I pulled the motor.

what is tcc i have it and i think my truck came with a 700r4 originally its know a th350.

the truck it a 1986 2wd

* 1970 chevelle 2dr sedan Latest update June 24 2007.

*1957 4 door stationwagon - pink all original needing a good restore (body great, floors bad)

newest additions
1965 shortbed fleet great granddads. Been told im nuts to bring it back from the dead (still going to happen) plans-all stock with a turbo 292 inline 3 speed column shift. and thats it

big block 427 and 5 speed trans and ford 9 inch theyhave no home yet thinking what to put them in

and a 79 c60 trash truck um no idea i have one

I'm thinking torque converter clutch as in lock up converter.

hmmm i think i need to start looking around for some stuff. cause i unpluged the wiring that had the 700r4 plug but a lock up converter. a 700r4 had lockup converters? (o need a junk yard again.)

It is indeed Torque converter clutch

Pretty much all 700R4's had a lockup converter, as well as the 350C. There will be a 4 pin connector on the left (usually) side of the trans for the electrical hookup for the TCC.

I am not sure. There is an article on www.73-87.com showing how to make your own lockup wiring using this switch instead of the painless wiring kit. You might check there.

If the turbo 350 is a pre 81 its not a TCC trans and its not needed.
