67 Roof Replacement

A friend had an oak tree take out his carport and the roof of the 67 stepside that was under it. He is an older gent (81) and wants to save the 67 for sentimental reasons. To that end I have found him a 67-72 cab with a good roof which he plans to have installed on the old cab. He is not interested in replacing the whole cab as it would be more work in his opinion. The cab I got for him has rotted floors/rockers and is totally stripped other than the glass.

My question is "how difficult is it to replace the top of one of these cabs?"

Would like to hear from any who have performed this surgery as I may wind up doing the work for him.

Will take some pics of the cab tonight. The tree crunched the right rear corner down about 8 inches and severly tweaked the right side door breaking the glass.

Re: 67 Roof Replacement

If it has the small back glass its a little more difficult to hide the scars than the big glass due to having a large flat surface on the back posts. heres a link on a choptop that may help you in your decision.

Re: 67 Roof Replacement

Was there any other damage to the cab other than the roof? Were to door posts or rear cab wall tweaked at all?
