what I did this weekend

I got the cab off of the 3/4 ton donor truck and on the 4x4 it's bolted down but I still have to get everything hooked up....didn't do it by myself. my son, father and myself got it done. I'm a little short on cash I wish I had the time and money to have done more with it while the body was off the frame.

Re: what I did this weekend

I'm trying to get it together and driving it by the winter. I figure I can work on it more from that point on. I was hoping there were more parts that were the same on the 3/4 ton. The parking break cables were in good working condition but wouldn't fit the 4x4 1/2 ton. nor would some of the new break lines. I don't tink i'll be able to use the speedo cable.
I'm going to put the dual exhaust on my son's 2wd that comming off of the 3/4 donor truck.

Re: what I did this weekend

not too bad for $150.00 bucks + the cost of priming painting and undercoating the frame. sooo far. I'm sure It's going to be much much much more before it's done. 100.00 for the donor truck and 50.00 for the 4x4

Re: what I did this weekend

I paid that plus shipping for a set of six lug rally wheels. Don't ask what I paid for the truck that had 3 months work of creative wiring problems to (mostly) work out.

I think you did rather well!!

Ditto, weekend well spent. Can't wait to turn over my cab to the painter. Long Long ways off however.

Re: what I did this weekend

The cab is in pretty good shape. the rocker's just started to rust out on one side the other looks good. cab corners are solid the bad is that there is a little rust in the drip rail. I'll have to get to that once the truck is put together.
We already had the front clip off of the donor truck that was last weekend's work.... it took us about 4hrs to disconnect everything, take the cab off and bolt it to the 4x4. We didn't hook anything else up.
