Re: SWB K-10 weight?

Just weigh each peice and add it up.Want a rough guess?About 5,500# or under 6.I think one size trailers are rated at 8,000# and that`s what I thing you need. The 6,000# is marginal.

Re: SWB K-10 weight?

I weighed mine a few years ago with the half ton axles and 35's and it was a little over 4800 lbs if I remember correctly.

Re: SWB K-10 weight?

That sounds closer to what I figured, 5200 GVRW - 1,000 payload....somewhere in the 4200-4500 range for a stock truck. Guess i'll need to weight it once complete and solve the mystery....

thanks for all the input....

Re: SWB K-10 weight?

Go with a 6K minimum IMO.

Tandem axle breaks as well.

A 16 footer will do the short bed just fine.

If you plan on towing other trucks/cars like maybe long-beds or burbs, go up to an 18 foot deck.

Load leveler hitches make a big difference too.

Re: SWB K-10 weight?

Well,I never weighed a shortbed,so I guessed. The lightest truck I`ve weighed was 4,860 and the rest are more. But,I was more concerned with the trailer rating you were looking for.

Thanks, Tim... I agree that when i buy one it will more than likely be an 18ft 6,000-8,000 lb trailer. My title says 4170lbs unladen wieght... I wonder where they got that info?
