anyone sell a front end rebuild kit? new tierods, balljoints etc..

before i go spend a fortune buying new control arm shafts, bushings, ball joints, tie rods etc... is there anyone who sells a well put together kit? i dont need expensive moog parts but then again i dont want piece of **** parts that arent going to fit/will giv me a headache down the line.

any of the 67-72 part dealers have a kit like this? its for a 72 1/2 ton

also LMC sells a complete cab, radiator core, bed mounting kit for $89. i spent like $40 just buying the radiator core mounts. any word on the quality of their susp components?

I bought all my front end stuff from GMC Paul, he has a partial front end kit and then I added a few things. Moog parts, I think. Everything fit and works great. Other vendors who are active on the board are great too. I called LMC about their kit and they wouldn't say what brand their parts were so I passed.

i just checked the site, $525... ouch!

all it is is idler arm, pitman arm and balljoints. is it not cheaper jut to buy regular replacement parts from a parts store? im trying to see how they get such a high part (well i know moog parts are expensive)

I just got all my stuff from the parts store. We did buy new front springs from the parts store too...all ended up being around 425. It included ball joints, tierod ends, pitman arm, shaft bushings for the a-frames, etc. We did the whole shebang...might've got a "preferred customer" discount or something, but the parts aren't bad or unreliable. heck, anythings better than running around on 30 year old stuff!

this is the place i got a poly kit for my last truck and it worked very good. they also sell the oem rubbers too. but it is a compleate front end kit. wasnt to bad on price either.

Go with the Moog parts. This is not a place to use the unknown "quality" of the made in a third world country parts. Mothertrucker's prices are close to what I got through my local mom & pop parts store. For a shade over $200 I got idler arm, pitman arm, tie rod ends and sleeves along with the free loan of the tools needed to remove the old parts. Go in and check on the local store's prices and see if they will swing you a deal if you buy it all at once. With the economy in the toilet they might just make you a deal.

LMC has the kits. For me I'm going Moog, here's a pic why. The TRW/Carquest part is on the right the Moog is on the left. Look at the bearing head size.

Those are both inner tie rod ends with the same part nimbers

Nice comparision,usually you get what you pay for .Cheaper parts cheaper quality.But in econemy sake I purchased a complete trw kit from Northern Auto parts for a 69 daily driver.3 years ago for a little over $200. Truck has about 70,000 miles since and is still nice & tight.The trw parts at advance are a good deal for the $ and convenient "instock now"

has any one seen napa parts for front suspensions? they have this mat at there counter and compare it to moog. they seem to bring out a point on parts design. i havent seen any one run there items. i was pretty impress with there discriptions and all but nothing beat a hands on test IMO. if you guys havent seen it i say check it out.

Dropt72Shortbed- you might want to check it out and make the guys bring out a moog part and one of there own to see. dont know about price but IMO napa has always been fair.

anyone heard of perfect circle? i went to pepboys down the road and some of their prices are better or the same as trw while some are more. the guy at the counter said theyre a division of DANA. worth trying or should i stick to the trw parts? also where can i order trw parts?

i know moog is the best but im sure the others will work fine. i cant afford to buy the top of the line in everything. hell i can get 20" boyds for my truck for $2000 or i can get 20" intros (which are nicer) for $3000. i know which is better but its just not in my budget. the moog parts will run me $525 where as i can the trw for $325
