Anyone bought this Alum Ebay rad? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Any one bought this alum rad. Its a 2 core alum that is supposed to tbe a direct replacment for 2-4 core copper rads.

I am thinking it should okay for my soon the be mild 350.

Not a bad price, but is that better than a copper one? or good for the street? I just bought a 3 row replacement for mine & it was only $200 localy...

Factory mounts are different between 2 and 4 row rads so I wonder just how well it "FITS"?

I replaced my original copper radiator with an aluminum and based on the info you've provided, I'm fairly certain the one you're looking at, like mine, will be too thick to fit in the original saddles. Since, my saddles were half rotted out I removed them etc but the point is if it's thicker than stock this is not a drop in replacement.

I got one for the guy who is helping me with Frank and it was very nice. I cannot speak for the fitment as we haven't installed his yet, but he was very happy with the rad, and it really does look like a quality product.
The seller has sold a bunch of Alum rad's for all kinds of cars and his feedback is very good, I would hesitate to purchase another one fro my driver when needed. Just my .02....Randy

I reviewed the feedback as well and I figured that it should be a okay swap......assuming it is a direct replacement. I am still hoping some who surfs here may have bought one and have some actual experience with one.

I just bought one.... it fits decently except for the right top mount. It doesn't clear the rad fill and I had to modify the mounting bracket. I havn't run the engine yet with it so I can't speak for the cooling ability, but the fit isn't great, but you can "make it work"... i'll post some pictures probably next week of my progress in a seperate thread...

one other thing is that its pretty fragile. Much more so than the standard rad.
