Little Body Work on the Blazer/Tub

I did some trading/swapping with Bill a few years ago but haven't seen him on the board of late, how's he doing?

Gotta get this build back on track...

Some changes to it:

Going to build it into more of a resto mod than stock.
*Fuel injection w/over-drive (350/700r/241) (4:10 gears)
*04 Tahoe front buckets/console and 2nd row seats
*Sound deaden-er to quite the old truck down

Hoping to build it as a driver, for comfort and reliability.

i havent talked to bill since iv pretty much finished up the truck. guess i have to start on something else so ill see him more often.. but everytime i see bill it cost alot of money lol....i hear ya on building a comfortable driver. the green blazer sure looks pretty everytime i look at it. im sure this one is gonna be killer take care

Nice work Kurt!! I wish my k5 was in that good of shape,even if it was as good as yours was before you fixed the smashed rear quarter. Any tips for me on a windshield frame install?? The windshield frame I have is from another k5 and was cut farther up than the original was so I have to get some more of the frame from a truck,etc to put in to get the windshield frame at the right height..

That would be the way to go on a 2wd....and one that doesnt have a hard top still used in the winter

Hey great thread,VT. Just finished reading the whole thing! Nice work as usual, but I'm confused, I thought that one turned into the Green one you just sold. Or was the white arizona truck the one that turned into green one..

Now I confused myself even more....

I actually purchased this tub to repair my very first blazer but the skills weren't there yet, so I decided to buy an AZ rust free ride as a complete.
(Green one/Gone one)

This build will be different than the last two but that's the way I like it.

Alrighty then...
Flopped back to building it as a 4x4.

Changed the tire size, going up to 36's.
Not a huge tire I realize but the street manners will be good.

No real progress on this one but the project that needs to be finished first is being worked on currently.
Need to finish and sell my 70 swb 4x4 to fund this blazer build.

36" tires are plenty big for the street. Keep them rotated often to help keep good street manners! I'm afraid I haven't rotated my 35"s enough and they shake pretty bad at about 55 mph.

Went a wee bit more...
Picked up some 37" MT/R's.

Found and picked up some one ton axles too...

Time to consolidate a couple threads I think.

Just went back through the entire thread (well the pics anyways) to refresh my memory and wow that's a nice tub to start with.

Any update pics yet? Maybe I'm a little anxious.

Nothing yet, trying to finish up current projects so I can get to work on my own junk.

Went out and revisited this blazer yesterday due to some new interest from another board member.

Looks like it's going to be sold as a tub on a rolling chassis as long as everything works out.

Got rid of the old (won't hold air) wheels/tires and put on these rallys I blasted and painted a couple years ago, told the potential new owner they would be part of the package.

Blasted and painted that frame several years ago, it's great to see it's holding up really well.

Nothing exciting but hey, that's winter in VT.

OK - I will answer the 3+ year old question...

The items pictured (I had to enlarge it to see what he was talking about) are known as the Blazer/Jimmy Rocker Box Supports and Floor Supports.

They weren't available 3 years ago though...

They can be found through the vendors and here is a link and pix of them installed.

3 plus years gets a different answer all together than when it was originally posted, thanks for taking the time.

As for the sale price, I'll keep it between me & the buyer for now.

I believe it's a fair price though, it will be sold as a completed tub sitting in epoxy primer.
Tub will be mounted and ready to go with a brand new factory style rubber body mount kit, a good working th-350/205 & a decent double walled top w/hatch.
Hatch isn't 100% but it's complete.

Gonna make someone a real good place to start their build.
