Do you want to sell your truck?
Today was the first time someone asked if I wanted to sell the 69. This always makes you fell you are doing the right thing. I told him not at the moment but he will get first shot if I change my mind. He definately has the money as he and his wife own a couple of successful stores in town. This kind of thing used to happen all the time 7-10 years ago with the 72 SWB
then small block. This guy said his Dad had one same year same color and he was getting to the point where he was wanting to restore something. He was happy even though it was not willing to let go of it today. He has a lot going on now and left the door open for the future. Now the flipside. Had my 06 for sale and had almost no interest. This also make you fell like you are doing the right thing. Go figure??

Re: Do you want to sell your truck?
at least once a month. Been offered decent money as of lately. This summer there was quite a few for sale in the area, and the prices went up 4 fold over last summer... and the junk was selling.
While mine is a POS, it's a LOT nicer than most of the junk around here. But mine ain't for sale, when i tell them that it was a gift from the fine members of this board, they don't bother me anymor eother than to politely look it over. Last edited by Longhorn Man; 09-04-2007 at 08:46 PM. |

Re: Do you want to sell your truck?
I have been asked by one person, but after I told them some super high price they said they would pass. It is for sale, but I doubt anybody will pay the price for my lump that is still a work in progress.

Re: Do you want to sell your truck?
I always loved the saying everything is for sale for a price. Usually you tell them the price and they walk away.
I just hate when I want something different and my price drops.

Re: Do you want to sell your truck?
I sold my 61 Lincoln vert when someone offered me more money than I had into it. It wasnt for sale at the time. I would sell any one of my rides or projects if the money was halfway decent.

Re: Do you want to sell your truck?
Twice I've sold projects. (in primer) Simply because when I was asked what I wanted? I threw out that "they would pay this" dollar figure, they took me up on it.
So, I got into these trucks in 1988. So far I've truly had 2 trucks more than 50% started/completed... Both of which sold for more than I had into them (lucky me, huh?) But, that means... After 19 years of having at least 1 truck (most of the time more due to parts trucks) in my life, I've never completed a truck build. I've gotten as close as rebuilt motor, interior painted & re-done, truck in primer, then starting on suspension bushing, etc... then Sold it. Ironically both were red interior paint with black seat, door panels, dash pad, etc... and both had stock rally wheels and primer paint (no body work, just primered so the truck wasn't plaid) So, this truck I'm building to sell (see current project below) is white interior (so that I don't fall in love with it like I would red) paint going with black seat, door panels, dash pad, etc... will drive primered at first on rally wheels... Watch... I bet I never get it sold...

Re: Do you want to sell your truck?
People leave notes on my truck. Once I was followed by a cop all the way to my parent's house. Just to ask me if I wanted to sell my truck.

Re: Do you want to sell your truck?
happens quite often, actually. about 10-15 times since i've had it. usually while sitting in traffic, and once or twice while driving down the street. there's just something about rollin' drop top that makes peeps think they can just roll up and ask. everyone should drive a drop top. it would make the community closer...

Re: Do you want to sell your truck?
When I was living in the states, I got that all the time. The minute I said the price they would turn and walk away. People love these trucks but they don't want to pay for them, they think they should be givin to them.

Re: Do you want to sell your truck?
The first day I had Lil Red running and moved her outside my shop...someone asked how much I wanted for her. Not for sale at this time, I told him.
