Question Gas Tank Sending Unit

1969 Chevrolet C10 - About two years ago I purchased a Gas Tank Sending Unit from LMC. It lasted a few months and quick functioning. They replaced it at no charge. This one has now gone bad too! Is this the fault of a poor quality "foreign cheap manufacturered" part or possibly due to a chemical reaction from the gasoline of today? Where can I purchase a reliable sending unit of quality?

Re: Gas Tank Sending Unit

I've had mine for about 6 months with no problem so far. If I remember correctly I also bought it from LMC.

I bought one some years back and it didn't last very long either. I think it's the quality of the manufacturing process these days.

How are yours failing? Can you see where it's failing?

I think on the first one I bought, the little copper contacts inside the can came loose and I was getting erroneous readings then quit altogether.

Question Re: Gas Tank Sending Unit

Can anyone give me another source other than LMC? If I remember correctly theirs came from Taiwan.

Re: Gas Tank Sending Unit

Bought mine new from my GM dealer a few years ago. I don't know if they are still available or not.
