Need help identifying my steering column year to replace key lock
Ok, I bought a used tilt column to add tilt to my truck but it didn't come with any keys. I need to buy a replacement ignition switch, but don't know what years(s) it was on originally in order to order one. Anyone know how to tell roughly the years it was from??? MANY thanks for any help with this!

Re: Need help identifying my steering column year to replace key lock
If it has the wiper switch on the column it is 84 or newer. If it uses screws to retain the ignition lock cylinder it is somewhere around 77 or 78 and older. If it does not use screws to retain the cylinder it is newer than 77 or 78. A splined shaft end also says it is an earlier column.
