WIW 1971 Chevy truck
found on side of road out in farm country, owner wants 600 for it.
WOrth it? Supposed to be his grandfathers truck and parked for 4 years. Rebult trans 5 years ago. Had receipt. Engine rebuilt about 7 years back. perhaps 30K miles on it since build but nothing done to it before it was stored. Rats have eaten all the plug wires and a few others. Lots of rust I am not sure if anything can be used w/out repair on the body, Fenders, rockers, floors, roof, bed cross memebers behind tires and even cab mounts. I do have enough parts to make this thing live again but would make a gread doner for a SWB frame I have.

Re: WIIW 1971 Chevy truck
not to be picky or anything, but that has a 68 GMC steering wheel, with a 72 highlander seat, and 73-87 rallys. AC is also some sort of add-on/aftermarket thing... now to the actual question at hand, id say its worth $600

Re: WIIW 1971 Chevy truck
i was wondering about that i love those seats so that was the first thing i noticed.. i had to look a couple times to figure out what was going on with the AC. its defintly worth $600 though, really the only bad i see is the cab, and it needs a tune up thanks the the rats

At first he didnt want to sell the truck, which I can undertand. He recently called me and offered it at 600.00. A price I think I can justify.

Re: WIW 1971 Chevy truck
Update:
Called owner and confirmed my purchase of truck. he said he had a new/replacement grill and some other parts in his shed to give me also. Even had origional radio and steering wheel too. So that Rare 67 GMC might be going on the blocks. Thanks

Re: WIW 1971 Chevy truck
Hell, if the AC doesn't work I'll give ya $50.00 for the aftermarket comp and brackets alone!! For that price, I'd definately buy it and part it if the body is shot to hell.

Re: WIW 1971 Chevy truck
The cow is not my pet nor his. When his mom left him alone he came up to me and we hung out together for a few hours while I wrenched on a truck.
Yeah Kevin is the owner, when I talked him the other day he asked that if I ever sell it I'd give him an option to purchase. A fair request I think. He is a very straightforward and good guy. I have another project in my garage and will be taking this to the farm and storing it indoors until I can figure out what do to with it. There are no plans to completely part it out at this time. Then my plan is to leave it at the farm until I can start to swap out rust for non rusty parts and to throughly compair and evaluate the cab situation. None of my other trucks at the farm are even this close to being complete. Pretty wild that you recognized the truck. I sent you a PM let me know who you are and I will tell Kevin you recognized it. Thomas Now dont go calling him and talking him into backing out on me .
