Bought another 72

I picked this one up last week. It was a one owner and has 105k miles on it. Check out the roof marker lamps on it! Kinda oddly optioned, no power steering, but he got power brakes, some nice trim, a posi, and cab lights!!

8" rims out back,eh?I love all the ways these things could be had.I like the old ID on the side, too.I saw this when traveling out your way in the`70s.Trucks all had the net and GVW down on the front 1/4 of the bed/passenger side.

Re: Bought another 72

It does have 2 8" wheels on the back, they are 5 lug. What were these wheels ever on??? I have seen lots of 6 lug 15x8's, but only one other 5 lug.

That is one fine looking 72 Joe, I dig the roof marker lamps and the dual spots . One other thing also noticed was the deluxe emblem is centered under the custom/10, how common is that? Cb

I have never figured out the "deluxe" emblem placement. I see them both ways all the time. I have a 60k mile original paint 72 and the deluxe emblem is centered under the Custom also. I think it might have been different plants built them differently? I dont like them like that, I like it when it starts at the front of the Custom emblem. Makes no sence to me??????

Does it have stainless drip rail moldings? It looks like it does in the pic, but I can't tell for sure.

Re: Bought another 72

The 5-lug by 8s were aftermarket.Just a truck guy way to add beef w/o the speed shop look.Just the way I like`um.I don`t think the factory offered 9.75x16.5s on 8-luggers,either.Except for single wheel C/30s...maybe.There were 8.25x16.5 8 & 6 lugs for off road ties on K-models.I have a set of 5-lug 15x8s for my`67 GMC project I was tickled to find.I had a pair of them on the front of a truck once with 5-lug 9.75x16.5s on the back.Yup,I was one of them `70s "Hi-jackers".I just love seeing trucks like that...how they were back then.Everyone undoes all that vintage truck accessory stuff when they restore, but I kinda like them how they are.

Yes, It was in Missouri! It has some cab rust, but the bed, doors, and clip are good!

Re: Bought another 72

Nice truck. Does it have CB mount holes on the dash? Mic mount holes? I'll be he had a CB in it, too. But it's nice. You are envied.

I have the original door edge moldings for my truck. Ain't gonna use 'em, but I got 'em.

Have you got any pix of that original black cloth interior? My truck came with black cloth but what is has (cloth) isn't original. I'd like to see yours, if it is original. No, I won't show you mine. I'd just like to see your interior if it is original. If not, it's your show.

Re: Bought another 72

There is a cover on the seat, but I can get a pic of the Parchment seat in my other 72 Custom Deluxe if you just want to know what the factory "cloth" seat looks like

Joe, you always seem to find nice original trucks.I wouldn't mind having a set of those 15x8 5 lug wheels,I had always seen th 6 lug ones.
