Bed lengths for 60-72 Chevy pick ups?

I'm currently restoring a '54 Chevy 5 window "Advance Design" truck, so I'm new to this section of the forum. Mine started as a 3/4 ton 8' longbed farm/work truck. It now has a shorter 6' bed with Must.II front / disc brakes on all 4 corners. I plan on getting a Chevy truck from each body style as my wife, garage space, and check book allow. I'd like to find one for my son and I to do together. I'm not year specific yet, but I prefer the shorter beds. I'm pretty sure the "Task Force" trucks had a 6 or 8 foot bed. I'm also pretty sure that there was a 3rd (shorter)bed size in '60-'66 as well as the '67-'72 years. I think the shorter beds look "sporty". Anyone here know for sure if I'm correct? Thanks in advance, Daniel U

Re: Bed lengths for 60-72 Chevy pick ups?

never heard the term task force trucks myself.
The 67 - 72 trucks came with;
6 foot bed in step or fleet
8 foot bed, step or fleet
8 1/2 foot bed, fleet only
9 foot, step side only

So the 6 foot bed would be a "short bed". Thanks, Daniel U
