**New guy..with pics**
Hey guys.
I'm Tim I hung around on the 47-59 board awhile, and now I'm here too. I've had many a trucks. I just picked up a 63 Suburban, and I'm looking for the best parts suppliers. I need a nice hood, front fenders, and maybe doors. Are the suburban doors the same as the trucks? What years are the same? I'd rather buy nice og parts versus repop...but, whatever gets it going. It's got a 302-6 and a 3spd, but I'm putting a 350/350 combo so it's easier for the wife to drive. It also has real nice bench seats, but I'm changing those too. So if anyone near NE Ohio needs nice og seats. I'm going with a notch and air ride also. I like my stuff low. Just my way. Anyway, that's me, and here are some of my previous rides. The last being the bare steel 53 suburban. We spent 8 months, and alot of money building it, then drove it for 6 weeks and 1000 miles and sold it take care Tim |

Re: **New guy..with pics**
Hoods bolt in the same whether it's a GMC or a Chevy but the only one you'll be able to find from a retailer is a Chevy. To my knowledge no one makes 60-63 doors so good luck there. I've been wanting a pair myself. Front fenders are the same from 60-66. You can always try LMC truck for parts. If you find someone making 60-63 doors please let me know.

Re: **New guy..with pics**
Thanks guys.
Those are cars/trucks from the past 4 years I've had. And there's more I didn't show. Didn't wanna bore ya..... I found a set of mint AZ doors 3hrs. from me for $300., so I may snatch them up. And I found a nice hood for $75. So if I don't find nice fenders, I'll go repop. I was kinda hoping for nicely "weathered" doors, fenders, hood...but I'll just have to make the burb nicer than planned. I'm a big fan of patina'd old trucks, but with all new unders, and air ride My old 59 wagon was actually a nomad. In 59, they only made 4500 or so nomads and they were the top of the line wagon, basicly an Impala. It had a injected 350/4L60, huge stereo, air ride etc... I got rid of it because of all the computer stuff. You had to plug it in to see what was wrong. I hated that. As for my newest burb, the 63...It's getting a 350/350, alum. rad., air ride with a 4" notch out bag and drop spindles and discs up front, wheels/tires, stereo for the wife , changing to 62 T-bird bucket seats up front and a nicer middle seat for my kids. I may leave the outside multiple colors...kinda rough looking...Just for fun Thanks for the welcome.... |

Re: **New guy..with pics**
No, no nova's, but I have had wagons....!
Besides the 59 Nomad pictured above, I had a real nice copper/white 57 chevy wagon that was all stock, except hammered on the ground, with widw whitewalls, black steelies and chrome spider caps. And I just sold a 60 Parkwood wagon, and I have a nice, but unfinished, 56 Ford wagon for sale right now. I need it gone to make room for the 63 burb. Your cars/trucks are cool too. I like to look at cars with big inch wheels, but can't get myself to put anything but wide whitewalls on my stuff. Just the way I roll! |

Re: **New guy..with pics**
Hey Grumpy,
I'm new here too and I know you from the HAMB. I think you bought or traded cars with my buddy donzie. The reason I'm here is I just a 60 pickup from Eryk on the HAMB. Its one of those sight unseen purchases but you probably know how that goes. I'm in Michigan and the truck is in LA so I put my trust in the guy who sold it to me. Maybe somebody on here has seen it. I'll be asking a lot of dumb questions on here I just hope these are are easy on me |
