Paint job on the CHEAP!!

$25 to be exact. I got tired of my truck looking like Fido's backside, so I figured it was time for a change. Not a professional job by any stretch of the imagination, but I think it's much improved. My fiance did a lot of the work. (She's a lot better at painting than I am ) Here's a before and after:

No shot of the fiance doing the painting? Btw, I like your truck both ways.

Re: Paint job on the CHEAP!!

Looks Good!!!

Hot Rod did an article a few months back showing how to "roll" Rustoleum on an old Falcon. It was pretty interesting how they did it. It took several coats, some wet sanding, and some buffing. I think they did it for less than $100.00.

Here you go CG. It was after we were done, but it's close enough. She also painted a lot of the front end parts when I did the disc conversion.

I have 1 coil cut from the front and a 5" drop spring in the rear.

Shifty, the gas cap was pretty much trashed so I just painted over it, and the badges have screws run through them and are pretty much hosed as a result. I plan to replace them eventually.

Re: Paint job on the CHEAP!!

I personally would have left it orange, maybe got some orange paint and blended it (or just left it). Blotchy flat black looks like:

New, chrome gas cap is $6 at NAPA auto parts.

Badges can probably be had for $10/ea in the classifieds. or send a PM to user uncle or PICKMUP and see if they have something.

$25 to make your ride look ten times better!!
