Heater relocation??
71 chevy. Standard heater core in that big ugly box on the firewall. I am not running ac. Is there anyway to relocate my heater core to inside the cab without purchasing a vintage air kit??? Anyone relocated their heater core on these?
I really do not like the look of that big ugly box and am open for suggestions. |

Re: Heater relocation??
You might look into the older trucks. Most had a compact heater that fit under the dash.

Re: Heater relocation??
i've had a bunch of 30's and 40's cars and trucks that we built boxes under the seat with junkyard cores hooked up fans and had decent heat from the main problem with thatn was in the defrost deal

Re: Heater relocation??
Im not sure if you can or not. Its not impossible, just easier to find a $20 combine heater & be done with it. Give it a whirl, Id LOVE to see it done...

Re: Heater relocation??
I must have missed it. I didn't see the heater on Duece's truck, only the engine side of the firewall. Hotrod heater?

Re: Heater relocation??
If you want to find an old machinery heater you are better off to find a machinery salvage yard. Heres another "could be"...

Re: Heater relocation??
You could mount one of these off an old Willys.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/46-47...spagenameZWDVW My Wagon has one similar for heat and a second, separate heater/fan unit for defrost - 4 total tubes. Herb |

Re: Heater relocation??
Get one of these. They also sell a defroster kit for it. They work pretty good. I've used them in 3 different vehicles I've built.

Re: Heater relocation??
I think he means to get the plenum asm. Click on the link below the actual picture that says. For a complete list of Flex-a-lite Mojave Heater Assembly, click here. Last edited by 68gmsee; 10-02-2007 at 08:16 PM. |
