Have a 1971 c 20 4x4 with a bad frame . can't find a 67 to 72 frame. How much of a differance with a 1978 frame.

The frames are longer on the 73-87s and the design is different.It can be made to work but if it was me,I'd repair the original.

subscribe to the board ($25)and post a wanted to buy for a frame// up in your area there should b people who are partin out rusted trucks with usable frames

Or for that matter look around for a mostly complete truck with a clapped out body. You'll get your frame and have some scrap metal to sell to offset the purchase price.

A c-20 frame is pretty easy to find but you may have to drive a little for it.

4X4 frames pretty much don't exist here.
the later ones, the wheel base is longer, I think the frame may be a little longer, and the newer frames aren't flat like ours, but a custo,m body lift would solve that.

I know that several people have put 67-72 bodies on later model trucks, if you are anygood with a welder you can do some cutting and welding and presto chango your have a body that sits on the frame nicely.
