Send both of them a message with the auction number of the other one and ask them. If one of them is bogus the one with the original listing will report the bogus one. LockDoc

Re: Check this out - SCAM???
Looks like the one in Traverse City, MI is the fake one if I had to pick. He is selling a nice truck with no reserve and no feedback at all. Also he wants 2000.00 in 48 hours and the guy in Cali wants cash in person. The other guy lists a phone number and a vin. I would have a member go to the one in California to check it out. Just my .02

Re: Check this out - SCAM???
The picture from California does look like the old California black and yellow plates. It is obviously a scam. It is amazing what lengths people will go through to sell something. Both write ups are different too. I hope he doesn't get away with it.

Re: Check this out - SCAM???
You are right, I see the plate and it does look to be a California plate. The seller from Michigan just got his ebay name yesterday it looks like.

Re: Check this out - SCAM???
That would serve them both right and be funny as hell to watch, but most likely has about as much of a chance of happening as I do of winning the lottery! Glad you caught that before somebody ended up getting ripped off! Hopefully the seller will permanently lose his eBay account and will never be allowed to have another one. I hate those guys! ...joe

Re: Check this out - SCAM???
Truck sure has a lot of colors for having ONLY 39k original miles
edit: I'd venture to guess that the truck is in So. Cal judging by the scenery in the pics I could also get my brother to check it out---in uniform---he is a Lancaster cop Last edited by kwmech; 10-16-2007 at 11:16 AM. |

Re: Check this out - SCAM???
They say everyone has a twin somewhere!?! But I'm afraid this ones a rip off. I think I saw one a couple of weeks ago where the guy used the exact same pic but had different hometowns.
Thats a shame, I like ebay and get a bunch of stuff off there. but I suppose there are scammers in everything. Kinda makes ya leary.

Re: Check this out - SCAM???
If you look in this picture you can see the seat cover rolled up and stuffed under the seat. The other thing I noticed is the pictures are taken at night and during day... suspicious. Looks like Ebay would have done something by now.. |

Re: Check this out - SCAM???
the 480 number looks like a land line...
Land Line Provider: Qwest Corporation Location: Phoenix, AZ The other one is for XXXXXXXXXXXXX street address not available Simi Valley, CA 93065 (805) number in the ebay listing..this number you can easily get the person's name city and state to whom the number belongs to I hope I can post the names on here...the phone numbers are posted in the ebay ad. and the other information was obtained via the net. Last edited by xshadow; 10-16-2007 at 08:56 PM. Reason: I didn't want to post the names or full phone numbers |

Re: Check this out - SCAM???
I live in Traverse City, so maybe I will see if I can go take a look at this "truck".
I just e-mailed the seller through Ebay and got this message: "Note: The user you are contacting is registered on another eBay site and may speak a different language. Your message will be sent exactly as typed below." Do ya think that auction is legit???
