Battery Box Replacement
I just got a new battery box for my 72 Cheyenne. I am having trouble getting the old one off. Is there a secret or do you just have to squeeze in next to the radiator. Anybody?

Re: Battery Box Replacement
I removed my auxilery battery tray by removing nothing but bolt screws. I figure the main battery tray is the same. I have a longhorn, so I have two tray's. Good Luck on yours. I will be doing the main tray soon enough.

Re: Battery Box Replacement
dont forget the one bolt from the tray to the inner fender, i didnt see it due to crud and ran into the same problem. ounce you get that off and the 6 or so bolts to the core support it should just come straight up. good luck

Re: Battery Box Replacement
If you have the large radiator, then what I do is loosen the radiator so I can squeeze a ratchett in between to get the 3 bolts down the side. Don't have to drain it just jack it to the side some.

Re: Battery Box Replacement
Thanks guys---the bolt to the inner fender is stripped I guess. Wont come out, jsut turns. Probably will just cut it off.
I do have large radiator. Can you just loosen one side? Coach |
