OK, got it home now whats it worth??

67 gmc CUSTOM, 1/2 V6 Automatic. Has ALL AC brackets, ALL PS brackets, has some rust in corners, rockers, doors rear cab mounts, bed is not good, pass drip edge, and one spot in cab above windshield. Front clip has no rust. Hood is bad but I have another for it. Has buddy buckets, speed warning, its all original but the paint job bascially. Has clear non highway title, which means you can get a title in your name for $10 here in Kansas. I know nothing about the motor or tranny. All I do know its a RARE truck being a 1/2 V6 with a auto, with AC, PS, Power brakes, speed warning and buddy buckets. I thinking about offering it for sale on the board first then going to Ebay if it doesn't sell here. I'm curious what you all think its worth, I know its rusty!!! Thanks Randy

Re: OK, got it home now whats it worth??

Well...From what I've seen on here and other places, it depends on where it is. If you try to sell it in Cali...it probably would be scrapped. In the NE area fairly high dollar, Canada even more. Mid-west...I'm from KY and I know a guy that bought one that was a plain-jane with probably MORE rust than that (rockers were completly gone, even the door sills), for $1500 (running) because it "had the steel bed". I paid $250 for my 68 stepper that doesn't run but has way less rust...

So...Anywhere from $150 as scrap to $4500 in the great North.

I don't know what it's worth, but I'll give you 150.00 for the seats....... It was worth a try right?

Re: OK, got it home now whats it worth??

I have that same rear bumper. That makes our two the only ones I have ever seen. Of course, that does not necessarilly translate to valuable.

The seats are worth more than the rest of the truck, from what I can see, due to the desirability.

The scary part is that the rust is always worse than it looks, and the rust on that one looks pretty bad.

I think that truck would have a hard time bringing $300 in my neck of the woods.

Try parting it out... you can probly get $150 for the seats, $200 for the front clip, and more for whatever anyone needs.

Rear bumper looks to me to be a typical dealer-installed version of what I call a "farmer-bumper."

Most all the older trucks here have them, heavy-plate steel, often with the dealer's name deeply embossed into it, and with the cut-notches near each side of the hitch ball area, to easy-quickly drop the trailer-hitch safety chains thru.

Not rare in the Midwest, I'd say.

VERY usable for towing & "real work-horse usage."

Re: OK, got it home now whats it worth??

Thanks for the input guys. I don't want to part it out, I'd like to sell it whole to keep it alive. I know approx what the parts will bring if I part. I'm just wanting to find out what its worth being all original truck with some rare options as a complete truck. Thanks Randy

Randy
I know what your saying about saving her but I think it will part for far more than a complete V6 longbox GMC. If it gets to the parting please put me up front for a shot at all the dash items.

Its unfortunate that a truck with lots of nice options is worth far more parting it out. If the body was better and it had a v8 then you would have yourself a prize.

Re: OK, got it home now whats it worth??

I know I'm just probably wishing it would stay whole, These are what some of the parts have been bringing, seats are bringing $350 plus, speed warning just brought $380 on ebay, V6 AC brackets and PS brackets with all pullies are rare probably comparable to BB prices, I seen a couple sets like that go for $400, I need to do some more checking on the V6 stuff though. Then I still have the front clip, and other parts I could sell. I'm going to keep it whole and hopefully I'll find someone who will be interested in it. Thanks Randy

Re: OK, got it home now whats it worth??

I tried to give away a good running v6 like that and had no takers. A few weeks ago at a swap meet I sold a decent set of buddy buckets for 475.00. I have no idea what you paid for that truck but I bet you get close to 2 grand parting it out.

I sold a good running, complete 305E V6 a few weeks back for $350 with the ps, 3sp tranny, bell housing, linkages, and all. I'd think with that one having ps, plus a/c and the automatic too...would be worth the same or more... even if it didn't run.

Dang it thought you were going to be real nice

Let me know what options the other has we may have to do some upgrading to the other one. Looking at the pic of it it looks to have the grill of a 67-68 with the front fenders of a 69-72 am I

If I am right are there 2 good fenders for a 67 to swap out? I know asking a lot of questions early but you got my progect going a new direction and getting real excited. If it looks half as nice as it does in the pics my wife is going to kill me

Jeff, its a 67 with 68 front fenders. 67 cab and good 67 bed, the rear coil fell out while I was loading it. I think the holder was trash. I'll get you some pics. I'll also work with you what part you'd need to get it going. Thanks Randy

Randy,
take all the goodies and put them into a 67 shortbed 4x4, paint it solid red, add a few more options (tilt, tach, am/fm and some red shoulder belts and naturally, tow hooks) and that would be an awesome truck.
it's sad to say but that one is worth much more dead than alive. best of luck and it is a cool truck.
