Good to be back on here!
Well guys and gal's I would just like to take this time to tell everyone that I'm back into the great hobby of 67/72 trucks! After taking the last 4 yrs to pursue a dream of owning and driving my own dirt track car I have hung it up after a very nice season of wins and alot of top finishes!
Now me and my 13 yr ole son will start the build of the 70 model truck I bought 13 yrs ago. I would like to take this time to say that the board looks great and has grown big time! Over the past 13 yrs I have bought alot of nice parts for this project and have had the chassi powdercoated and got a 68 front end and a sweet fleetside bed to finish out the project with. As soon as possiable I'll post some pic's when we get set up, right now the truck is stored in 2 different shops so I want to get it all under 1 roof. My son will play a big row in this build. Good to be back on with you folks... ttyl

Re: Good to be back on here!
Hey Donnie its great to see you (one of the ole ones) back. I wondered where you were. I was thinking maybe you changed your screen name since you sold the burb. Hope things are going well for you. This place really has grown over the years. Sure hope you'll hang around. Put some pictures of your projects on here for us to check out.

Welcome back from an old man that wasn't even here when you left. Your user name is the same as my nickname for my 72 C/10.
Good luck with your build and with the time you get to spend with your son.

Re: Good to be back on here!
Man I'm almost speachless guy's, thanks for the warm welcome back into the coolest hobby. I would had never changed up but when I was 14yrs old my dad had me driving a dirttrack car at the local track and we raced for 3 or 4 yrs until he got tired of shelling out the cash on it.
Well as some of you know, my dad got killed about 6 yrs back and I we had been going to the races on Sat. nite and watching. Dad would always say, I wish we could won a race back then! Well that stuck in my mind like glue, so I bought me a car and went racing and it was this yr that everything came together and I won some races! I dedicated my 1 st win to my dad over the loud speaker while in victory lane and I dont know why but after that racing didnt mean as much then! But I went back and won more races but my heart was with these trucks and I new my son was getting to be a age that we needed to spend alot of good time together! I'm sure ya understand what I mean! Thanks for the kind words, it's nice to know you where missed and thought about. Donnie Snipes/aka: Big Orange

Re: Good to be back on here!
You did your daddy proud. My brother was a dirtracker, won a points championship and a lot of races, he's been gone about two years. I have thought about going round and round too, in his memory, but no dirt tracks around here, just paved TRP (Tucson Raceway Park). Glad to have you back and good luck. I can't wait till my boys are old enough to roll in the grease with me, they are 5 and 6. They come hang out for awhile, but lose interst pretty quickly.

Re: Good to be back on here!
Funny --- while you are getting out of dirt track, i am pondering getting in it. I'm bored as he** with drag racing and slightly too old to motocross--
so i want a mini sprint now oh well -- too many toys, too little time Last edited by streetstar; 10-31-2007 at 07:42 PM. |
