What are the best tricks to get these pesky little things to move?

Try to heat them up a bit with a small propane torch, and I'll assume you already soaked them with penatrating oil, so wipe off the excess then heat and repeat with oil.

try to tighten a little first...some times it breaks the rust loose first....then try to lossen......lots of nuts off...

a little heat is good then i just put a socket on them and give the ratchet handle a good wack with a hammer and if they break off no big deal cause calipers and brake cylinders aren't that expensive to replace

Heat the bleeder or the metal it is screwed into?

I like using a socket to lossen them.Use a 6 point socket so you have less chance of rounding them off.If they are stuck that bad you may be better off to replace anyway.

If you brake it off, is that it for the caliper?

I'd heat around the screw.

You could possibly get it out with an easy-out. It would be worth a try before replacing the caliper

I just replaced the caliper.I believe mine was $20 with a trade in on the old one for core...My old one had the bleeder rounded off sometime before I got it and it wasn't going to come off.The only issue was that the banjo bolt on the new caliper was metric and the old one was standard..That was on my 4wd though,a 2wd may be different.

just about anything can be saved but i'm not spending hours savin a $20 part// then you add in the factor of is your life worth the security of brand new brake parts YOU CHOOSE

that darn pesty bleeder, down where all the grime goes, I broke more bleeders off than I can count, these guys are all right in that cylinders and calipers are pretty cheap, if you opt to keep your calipers or cylinders, there is a bleeder repair kit if you do break one off, you drill the hole larger and screw in this brass insert which has the bleeder in it.
Me personally would opt to change and if changing, you should change in pairs..... good luck
