Comfort Grip Steering Wheel parts-Need help

Hey guys, I finally found a blue comfort grip steering wheel for my Super. I just bought the wheel, and I am going to need the hub and horn parts, but I need to know for those who run them in these trucks, what parts do I need? I need a chevelle hub right??? I think there is a difference between them and corvettes and others. Then what all do I need wise for horn contacts? Here are some links for a chevelle part dealer, I just need some of you guys to feel me in on what are the ones that I need. Also, I am going to attach a few pics of 2 different types of horn buttons, what one do you think would look the best. Thanks guys Trevor

Re: Comfort Grip Steering Wheel parts-Need help

Use the horn cap on the right. Also get the '67-'68 Camaro style hub. It is closer to the correct diameter of your truck steering column. The '69-up hubs are made for Camaro columns with an ignition switch in them. The diameter of those hubs are a little bigger. You will also need the horn contact and spring. These are my favorite factory steering wheels! Good luck.

Re: Comfort Grip Steering Wheel parts-Need help

Thanks guys, so the camaro one is thinner and looks better with our columns?? I have a tilt in there and wanted to make sure it lines up fairly well, Powell.. is that all I need, or do I need their hub too??? Oh, and about the tow hooks, I am glad they are doing good for someone, thanks for helping me out for rent for a month, I was in dire straits at the time, didn't really want to sell them but was forced. I know I will kick myself for selling them. Glad though, they went to a board member. Thanks guys, once again. I am still happy whenever I make it back to board, that all you guys still help out everyone. The best forum ever. Trevor

71blksuper4x4,... your link to the horn contact parts is all you need besides the 67-68 style hub. powell72,... your wheel looks great! I assume you dyed the vinyl. How is that holding up? I've tried to change the color on some 3-spoke wheels without much luck.

It has been holding up really well, the wheel was very sticky before The Truck Shop dyed it for me, I've been using it everyday since March and it's been great, especially the no sticky part. They were worried whatever was making it that way might seep back through, but it hasn't. The color is much closer than the flash on the camara makes it look. I might need to grab a 67/68 hub one day, I've got the bigger 69 style.

Re: Comfort Grip Steering Wheel parts-Need help

Okay... So, I have been looking for a thread on this for some time... Finally found it!!! A friend of mine gave me a factory black 3 spoke wheel out of a 67 Camaro... It has the hub on it, but NOTHING else.... What do I need to mount it to my 72 SWB???

Thanks
