What makes a Big 10 a Big 10??

Just bought a 82 chevy pickup and came with the rear half of a big 10 short box truck.. Frame cut off from the cab back.. It looks to have heavy dutty springs and is suposed to have a posi rear as well as it has duel tanks.. BTW, its dark now....I;ll get pics of my new project... Its only a body with nothing but an old 305 block sitting in it.. has been sitting for 10 years. REALLY needs a bed ... I am setting a goal of THREE WEEKS to get this thing into a running, driving, stopping truck that will roast the tires, using parts from my little junk yard I got starting lol. .... I will start a progress thread when I get to it.. THANKS ALL!! BTW what makes a BIG 10 a BIG 10?? never heard of it...

Re: What makes a Big 10 a Big 10??

Had a 78 Big 10 years ago. GMC's was the Heavy half. Had a higher GVW (heavy springs) so that it wouldn't have the cat converter. Everything else was optioned out like any other truck of that era.
