trailing arm ?
A big pet peeve of mine is that our trailing arms tend to spread. what if i was to weld a bead along the seam on both sides. would this not give it more strenght as well? i have heard horror stories about these things breaking before and it scares the hell out of me.

The fix for the 3/4 ton trucks was to spot weld a piece of flat stock across the seam and the length of the trailing arm. It is about 1 to 1-1/2" wide and on my truck it was done to the top and bottom of the trailing arm.
