MATT -- I'M ASSUMING WE'RE TALKING ABOUT A 2WD. THERE ARE 3 HOLES IN THE TOP OF YOUR FRAME RAIL FOR YOUR ENGINE TOWERS. THE BACK 2 ARE FOR A 6 CYL. & THE FRONT TWO ARE FOR A V-8. THIS IS THE WAY THEY CAME FROM GM. PERSONALLY I LIKE TO PUT EM IN THE REAR HOLES (6 CYL. POSITION) FOR BETTER WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION & TRACTION. THERES PLENTY OF ROOM TO FIT A HEI, IT'S KINDA TIGHT, BUT THERES PLENTY OF ROOM.

the cradle goes in the rear holes, all 4x4 cradles are in the rear holes, even my factory V8 one
