tonight.......
Someone called Family Dollar my job and was telling my manager they wanted to buy my 70 gmc. She told him that it was NOT for sale and he kept on and she called me to the front and I was recovering the paper products/chemicals and I went up there and they said are you the owner of the light blue and white GMC and said yes i am. He said he wanted to buy it and I told him NO. and then before that another guy wanted to buy it and I told him it was not for sale. WHY DOES EVERYBODY WANT IT and it has that HUGE DIING on the side.

Re: tonight.......
I get asked all the time. Some people just don't understand "NO". There is a guy here that works in one of the buildings I work in, everytime he see's me, "when you going to sell me that shortbed, I'm going back to the states soon and need something to drive". I tell him it's not for sale and he tells me, "you'll get tired of me asking and then I'll get it from you". That won't happen. He can go back to the states and buy a Geo and drive the tires off of it, he won't be in my truck.

Re: tonight.......
I am thinking that someone has told them that you are interested in selling it. It may have been something that you said at one of your get togethers with your firends. I would also look for someone trying to pull one on you. However, if you set a price on it at a HIGH level, BE dang sure that you want to let go of it. someone may call you on your bluff. A firm "NO" is always better. If they persist, then add a few nasty words--they will get the idea, quick.

70',they may think it`ll be cheap since you have that "ding".I find alot of people wanting to buy these from us have no idea what they`re worth. They figure they like it`s style and it couldn`t be more than a few hundred for an old truck.Or even, looking at a high-dollar truck thinking it`d be about $5k max.Their tune usually changes when they hear the price.

Re: tonight.......
People ask because that's how things get bought and sold. You may have a weak moment; he/she may have an uncontrollable itch and a pocketfull of money. It's life. How many of us have stopped to ask, or commented about someone's vehicle that "wasn't for sale" only to find out it "can be bought"? If there's enough green coming into view, there's very little that I couldn't be persuaded to part with. I might regret it afterwards, but I'm gonna have some fun shopping for a new "toy" to replace the old one.
What usually leads to the asking is courtesy of the rumor mill. It may be that you had a weak moment when it wouldn't start, or when you didn't have enough money to fill the tank, or when someone hit the side of it and had no insurance, that you said something that someone overheard and etc. Sometimes, these things come to pass because of something WE said in a moment of angst.

Re: tonight.......
Remember you have to teach your kids to say "NOOOOO" to dummies. However, if the fool offers the right dollars, then take it and go to the bank.
By the way, I had a friend that sold his little Dodge Dakota for $600.00 and the guy paid cash. When he went to the bank, the money was counterfeit. So if you don't know the person, then get this guy's name and ask to see his ID for your protection or ask for a certified check. Ain't E-bay a nasty place? Re: tonight.......
I check money by looking for fbers and checking to see if the 100 bill emblem turns black and green and then check to see if he is home then look for the bar that is inside of the bill. We had gotten a counterfeit bill at my job and it had lincoln on the inside and my boss lady took all those markers and threw them away and called the guy in charlotte nc and told him not to send anymore of them pens out

Re: tonight.......
I agree with ChevLoRay........
That's how things get bought and sold. How many on this board have posted a thread about their lastest "find", and the story of how they found their truck went something like,....."I was driving down some ol' back country road and spotted this (fill in your favorite year/ model truck), found the owner, and asked if he was interested in selling?"..........correct? When I had my disassembled C-20 sitting out in the woods along side my house a couple of local guys would stop by every so often and ask if I was interested in selling my truck. When I'd say "No" thet would leave their phone # in case i ever changed my mind. People are always looking for a "deal". Consider it a compliment that someone likes your truck enough to make an offer to buy it.

Re: tonight.......
That's true. And money is tempting. But I've decided that my little '67 will be with me until I can't drive any more. I have sold too many vehicles that afterwards I regretted it. This time, this one's staying in the family.

Re: tonight.......
Everyone assumes you don't know what you have and they can get it for cheap. Case in point, A few months ago I had a guy ask me how much I would sell my '69 Camaro SS clone for, which was probably the 10th guy to ask me. So I threw out the same number that usually sends everyone else packing, $25,000. So just to confirm he asked if he brought me $25K in cash would I be willing to sell it and I said I really like it and I am not looking to part with it. He gave me his card and told me if I changed my mind to call him. So I thought about it and saw that I could pick up one in the color I REALLY wanted and the interior options I REALLY wanted for only $1K - $2K more. I called him back and it turned out he did not have that much cash but after putting it up for sale on Craigslist, someone else did.
