Re: Linex in blazer? anyone done it?
There have been a couple of discussions about it. Some feel like it is hiding something and would never buy a truck with it done? Some say it would hurt value? I have a 1972 GMC Jimmy that was 95% rust free and am having that professionally repaired right now. I plan on having this as a top off summer toy that will get caught in the rain. I am seriously considering lineX the entire interior for weather/rust protection. I don't really plan on ever selling my Jimmy, I would just lose money anyway.
If I do it this spring I'll let you know what I think. |

Re: Linex in blazer? anyone done it?
yeah the bed in mine doesnt have any rust at all, I would just do it for protection as well as sound deadening...what has anyone else done for floor covering to deaden sound and strengthen appeal? any suggestions? thanks...

Re: Linex in blazer? anyone done it?
I'm doing it in mine, but haven't done it yet. I hear that opinion about the resell value, you do what you want. Line-x will probably make it last longer.

Re: Linex in blazer? anyone done it?
I have it on my 69 Blazer and like it. If you go this route I would suggest changing your body mounts before they spray it so you won't have to cut it to get to the bolts.

Re: Linex in blazer? anyone done it?
The original body mounts are rubber and tend to decay. Shot body mounts will cause sag in the body making the doors harder to close and the hard top harder to put on.
Yukon Jack organized a group buy on bikini tops. Ya might check with him to see who made them or if there are any left over.

Just make sure you go with a good spray on line.. I used cheap stuff and it sucks...duplicolor does not work..

Re: Linex in blazer? anyone done it?
Start thread so we can all see lots of pics....I've been trying to decide on mirrors, and I think I just found the answer, are they available as repros? J.

Re: Linex in blazer? anyone done it?
I'm going to use it on mine. The entire interior, short of the dash. I did the lower half of my Dodge with the roll on stuff made by Bondo about 2 years ago. Still looks good. When its clean

Re: Linex in blazer? anyone done it?
I believe I got the mirrors from Classic Industries or maybe LMC Trucks? Start a thread? Ok, but I will not have any time until the end of Dec 07. Also someone asked about my top. It was homemade.

I did my front floors with Herculiner, if you have pics. of before and after can't see where it would hurt resale, unless the new owner wants the stock look. It's got to hold up better than paint

Re: Linex in blazer? anyone done it?
I like it alot when its clean, here are a couple pics of my 72 K/5 that was line-x'ed in 2000, did the complete inner bare tub from rear gate to Fwd. top of backside of firewall. It is holding up great and makes cleanup after a weekend of play a snap. As far as it hurting the overall value of your truck, I dont feel that it does if a true quality job shop and product are used. I have turned down a few very serious (had to think about) cash offers over the last couple of years and remember this... if you grow tired of the line-x or decide on a change, a rubber mat and pad or even a complete carpet kit could easily be layed over the top of it. The pictured instrument bezel and chrome plated glove door faces were also done in line-x. Cb

Re: Linex in blazer? anyone done it?
Looks great. Thanks for the instrument panel and glove box idea. I'll have to do that when I do my roadster.
