Where to find Original steel wheels
Hey Everyone: I am looking for original steel wheels that came on the 4x4 half ton trucks and blazers that have disk brakes and are the 15"x7" size. Does anyone know of a reproduction company that sells them or a junk yard that might have them?

Re: Where to find Original steel wheels
Hey thanks for the info guys I appreciate it. I will have to post a wanted ad on the board. I saw on the web for stockton wheels a steel wheel that looks similar to stock. Ive heard that there is a diffence between the 2 and 4 wheel drive, disk brake vs drum brake stock steel wheels. Does anyone know?

Re: Where to find Original steel wheels
Im going to toss this out (I do it every time I see Stockton mentioned). I would avoid Stockton Wheel like the plague. Another board I frequent dealing with old hot rods and customs has had many threads on these guys. I bet out of every five good experiences with them there are over one hundred bad. There are quite a few places that you can get this style wheel made....google is your friend =)

CG,don`t exaggerate. It`s 1 in 20,lol.The drum brake wheels won`t work with disc IIRC.

Re: Where to find Original steel wheels
I looked and looked and looked. I put the word out to my local 4x4 buds. Remember - starting in 1971, the same "plain jane" 6-lug (fit over disc brake) steel wheel was used up until 1987. I finally got a set FOR FREE with caps and all the lug nuts off a 1976 4x4.

Re: Where to find Original steel wheels
They shouldn't be hard to find. Seen a set in our local paper for $ 80. I woundn't pay over $25-30 a wheel, to many of made.

Re: Where to find Original steel wheels
Yup, 71-87 6 lug are hard to find. I posted on the parts board a WTB and after a lot of searching Eric, (too much stuff) hooked me up with a set, they had to be trucked down from MN (thanks again to Bruce) but I just couldn't find them around here. The later wheels are offset more to clear the calipers on 71 and up trucks. The pic below shows the difference.

Re: Where to find Original steel wheels
I called Stockton a while back about getting some wider versions of my stock steel wheels. The hubcaps don't fit on their wheels. Given what CG said, I'm glad that was the end of my dealings with them.

Re: Where to find Original steel wheels
yeah, stock wheels now are running like $80 each. I've rounded up some for my 67, I am going to disc brake but want to keep the stock look with hubcaps

Re: Where to find Original steel wheels
If you`re wanting the deep dish wheels that could be had on later trucks, those are 8".Go to a commercial wheel place and see if you can order them. The military Blazers all had them.Check military resto/collector guys.
