It's rollin on 20's and bagged. I swiped the the system from my jimmy, it's getting all new stuff, and used it here. It's got a four link in the rear and tapered sleeve bags. The body of the truck is actually pretty ruff. I basically wanted to save what is left (rust). It got a quick sanding, por 15 on the rust and some flat white paint.

pics?
Hey Brad, how did you get these pics on-line? I took pics of my truck with my Palmcorder (dig. camera feature) and hooked the wire up to the comp. but I'm stumped from there. The operations manual is somewhere between Bahrain and here so thats no help.
Tanx for any help you can give, Wes |

Dave it was intended to be a budget job. So it still has the stock inner fenders. I even stayed with the Bell Tech notch it had. Some day I'll do more but the Jimmy is takeing all my $$$$.

Wes I scanned those. I don't know why they look like a cheap digital photo. My camcorder has that feature also but my manual is not very clear either.

Hey you OK guys, I'll be picking up a hood in Enid, Ok. that I bought from another member (he won it on ebay & wasn't able to get it). I should be up there in the next week or so & thought it would be cool to meet some fellow members if @ all possible.
Any takers?

Yea, that as low as it gets. I really don't care to put the rockers on the ground so it's no big deal to me.

Hey brad2, budget beater or not, it's got enough stance to petrify wood! Wait, can it be classified as budget w/those shoes?? I'm putting 18x8's w/255/45's & 20x10's w/295/40's on my 74. What's your tire specs & did you use the weld-on 4-link kit?
I was toying w/the idea of modifying air-rides 73-up/1-ton bolt-on dually kit to fit my 1/2 ton. I have a friend thats got an 87 w/the weld on 4-link & he said if he had it to do over, he would just do the bag over leaf set-up because of the amount of work. The bag over leaf set-ups seem ok to me as long as you don't have any power, otherwise I would think wheel-hop city & future plans for this 74 include more power(grunt, grunt).

Scoti I had that exact setup for a while. In the first pic of my truck it has 245/40/18 and 275/35/20. The current setup is 245/40/20 and 294/40/20. It is the weld on four link. The bars actually had to be shortened a bit because they were hitting the gas tank. My truck is just a bit shorter than a regular shortbed. It used to be a long bed. The gap between the bed and cab is much smaller now. I don't think it would be a problem for "uncut" trucks.

Actually it is....
His truck is all factory shorty & he had to do the same thing w/the top bars. He cut them down to fit, then inserted a solid bar inside the 2 halves & then butt/rosette welded them up. I helped do his front bags & used his kit for templates to fab my own brackets for my 67. I haven't decided whether I'm going to do a static drop or air for my 74 & the bolt on air kit can easily be removed later for resale or installation on another truck. It's more $$ up front, but offers more versatility in the long run & w/3 trucks, it's kinda' getting out of hand.

Sweet setup so far Brad. Much better off with this one than the other flametruck. Plus you can say you did it rather than someone else.

@#%*&^$ YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sitting here with a screwy engine and leaking tranny trying to figure out how to squeeze a few bucks out of the budget here and there to get it running, and you're posting pictures like this!!! Makes me want to ask Dave the name of his pimp. I'll go give blood on my way to the plasma center.

Yeah I here Jeff carries around magazines like that in his glove box (or as he calls it his porn box) for just that kind of thing.
The ways I can use that joke are unlimited!
