Question on model # - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am looking at a truck to buy and have the model & Vin # he give me over phone and I looked at the decoder but this just doesn't add up could it be short a digit or what? Model # CE10934. It supposed to be a 71 cheyenne short box? Any info???

That mdl # is a long fleet.

Ok, thanks. Is there any way to tell by the vin #? This truck is now a short fleet. maybe the glove box came off another truck? What best to tell?

I've seen plenty of model numbers missing digits... yours is missing a couple... but yes, that does decode as a 1/2 ton long wheel base with a fleet side bed.

Thanks, I'm wondering if the cab was replaced or glove box changed or if truck has been shortened. Any way to tell by vin # or something since I can't see the truck up close?

My bet would be shortened either by frame swap or cut. It is amazing how many Cheyenne trucks have shrunk in the last 35 years....

If So any idea what it would be worth in good shape (no rust, decent paint, and good running order)

Supposed to look at truck Saturday, can anyone give me values of shortened LWB to SWB fleet cheyenne, if all in working order and good shape body wise? Any advice appreciated

If they converted it over well, using good parts did not coble the brake system together or if cut the weds are safe and properly done, not much different from factory 2wd, especially if originality des not matter. If they are trying to pass as original truck I would question somethings. As far as what it is worth- that depends on you, do you just want a truck to enjoy or what? Need to see some pictures of truck and of SPID.

Some pics, don't have any of underneath. I am meeting the guy tomorrow to see it in person.

Nice looking truck and has a great looking bed on it.

The interior is wrong for a Cheyenne, should be woodgrain trim on the gauge bezel, glovebox door and ash tray. It also should have the woodgrain trim on the outside lower moldings, and a tailgate band with the woodgrain as well. Looks like the make this truck into a cheyenne from a stripdown longbed with A/C, or cab swapped from an A/C truck., just my .02...Randy

I believe that the woodgrain applique on the glovebox door, and gauge bezel were on the Supers only. The ashtray woodgrain wasn't factory.
