williams AZ
I was in AZ. the past week for the boatraces and one day at the Good guys show. Went with the wife to Williams to take the train to the Grand Canyon and found these at the local garage, hopefully someone might be able to use these.

Re: williams AZ
That style lasted from the Advanced Design years(47-55 1st) up to the New Breed years(67).Maybe it ended earlier, but it went into the`60s before the square design started.I`m pretty sure`66 was the last year.Because the grille on the next design mimmicks the 67/68 truck grilles.UPS used the aluminum ones for years.

Re: williams AZ
In 1981 I moved my brother back to Kansas City from Northern California. We took the southern route to avoid getting snowed in on I70 somewhere. As it turned out we got SNOWED IN in Williams Arizona! Being the world travelers we were at the time, we had no clue it ever snowed anywhere in Arizona. But there was a little Steak House there that served good food and we watched one of the best football games I've ever seen, San Diego versus Miami. Snow cleared the next day and off we went.

Re: williams AZ
that would be Rod's steakhouse, the one with the bull shaped menu. It has been there since 1946. right on route 66, next to DINER 66

Re: williams AZ
That`s when I was living there!I lived in Mountainaire, between Flagstaff and Sedona.People always asked how I could stand the AZ heat.I`d tell them when it was rare to hit 80 in summer and the was about a month that you could cruise at night with the window down and no heat.I`ve heard alot of stories about hitting bad storms going through there from people, too. It may be Arizona, but it`s 7,000' on the "rim".Mt.Humphreys is shy of 13,000'.Not too shabby!

I climbed Mt.Humphreys two summers ago and there was snow up there, in the summer! I sucked driving back to over 100 degrees in Phoenix few hours later.
