2003 Suburban Z71 - Performance Add-ons

I recently purchased a used 03 Suburban Z71 and have a few questions as to performance upgrades that are possible/recommended for this engine. The motor is the cast iron 5.3 block with LS style aluminum heads. Is this a LS motor or does it go by another designation?

I am looking for better performance from it and am investigating exhaust systems (headers/cat-back) options, intake options, and camshaft options. Would like to continue using 87 octane regular and keep the interior noise level low.

The last suburban I dualled out had a significant resonance issue inside the vehicle which did not please the wife.

Any suggestions on specific modifications and suppliers I should consider?

I believe you have a LM7.
