1971 C10 Project

My project truck, future daily driver. 1971 C10 Stepside. Long way to go, cant wait to get started after winter.

RoverII(71 C10) and the 1988 Silverado Donor truck. THis is going to be a fun build, since its our very first father son project.

Render that was made of our goal, Hope to make it look somthing like this, maybe stock suspension tho with lowerd front.

Re: 1971 C10 Project

Are you going to keep the '73ish bed fenders? It would be a pretty custom look but in my opinion, they don't match the truck. (wheel wells give it away) But then again, I'm not crazy about the look of the newer stepside composite bed on this years of truck either. I was just curious.

oh and we probably wont be keeping the 73 Step fenders cause they are too far gone...They are real rusty, there was an attempt to repair them befor, but it just rusted out again. We are keeping the box the but the fenders are comin off.

Re: 1971 C10 Project

yeah my Dad and I thought it was interesting. But it had been sitting for awhile, the guy befor attempted to make an effort on a resto-rod....and had a 350-350 combo in it. then it sat for awhile...We have a new frame now so were happy. Now its time to focus on the cab floor and rockerpanels. ill have progress picks hopefully in early summer

Besides that ol' frame, looks like a good truck.

What truck did you grab those front seats out of?

Re: 1971 C10 Project

You can use it, but you won't be able to use 1st gear on the selector. Correct me if I'm wrong though, but that's how it is on the stock column shifter if you swap to the 700R4 or 4L60E.

It's a nice custom touch, I'd keep it in.

Hey, who did the renders for your truck and how much did they run you?
