Ignition Switch question
The ignition switch in my '68 does not have accessory mode. Is this normal or maybe an aftermarket deal?
Thanks, Dave

Re: Ignition Switch question
When you say it doesn't have an "Accessory" mode- do you mean the key won't turn back to that position or when you do go to the ACC posiition...nothing happens? If you can't get to the ACC position- then I'd say you have an aftermarket switch. If you can turn the key, but nothing happens- then it may or may not be normal. In my '67 I can turn the key to "accessory" but their doesn't appear to be anything connected to this circuit. I don't know if this is right or not, but my wiring looks suprisingly unmolested- so I'm inclined to say that it is. Eventually, I'll bust into the harness and hook my pwr windows, locks, lighter, dome lite and radio to this circuit.

Re: Ignition Switch question
67's didn't have acc, and I think 68 was the same.
Ding, you probably have an aftermarket switch in yours... maybe the whole door/ign set. This is why nothing happens when you crank yours back. On mine, the heater and radio work in the ACC position. |
