Stick Removal

I have an SM465 (I think). How do you remove the stick shifter from the top of the trans? I would like to remove it before I remove the trans from the truck. Also is that little electrical connector on the right side the back up light switch?

Re: Stick Removal

Push down and twist on the shift ball collar. Yes, that is the back up light switch.

Re: Stick Removal

If ya drain the oil out of the tranny, you can just dump back in before ya put shifter back in. Lot easier.
