Back wheel locking up.new brakes?
My back wheel (drivers side is locking up very easily) locks up and I am not sure why, Ima newbie when it comes to this stuff.
I want to do a brake job, does anyone sell kits? What brand of parts do you guys use and reccomend. Thanks ~72~ Pete |

I would check to see if the wheel cylinder is leaking if it is you need to replace the shoes too

A leaky axle seal can make that happen also. Bottom line is you are going to have to pull it apart and inspect it.

Yup...when mine did it, it was wheel cylinders.

Next time you notice it locking up, pull over and feel the wheel/drum carefully. If it's very hot, you have a brake locking up most likely due to a bad emergency brake cable.
I've had this on my truck and a Blazer I used to own.

Yep, i'd say leaking wheel cylinder. I had that same problem and found a bad wheel cylinder...
