Re: Best Classic truck mag. (opinion)

I like Classic Trucks, the trucks featured it Custom Classic trucks seem tacky to me. Plus the tech articles, pic quality and layout seem subpar to me.
Just my opinion.

Re: Best Classic truck mag. (opinion)

Custom truck magazines overlook the classic aspect,IMO.They are just like Truckin` for older trucks.A classic magazine will cover all aspects of classic trucks.

Re: Best Classic truck mag. (opinion)

I cant figure out why Primedia has two magazines...Custom Classic Trucks and Classic Trucks. They both seem to have pretty much the same content. Merge em and put together a fatter monthly issue. Course I seem to buy both every month...guess they have the right idea after all...lol.

Now if you really like all old trucks you should look for a magazine called Vintage Trucks.

I have yet to see a Truck Builder magazine anywhere. I have seen Rod Builder and another one they put out.

The same reason they have Truckin, Sport Truck, and Street Trucks. These were all independent titles at one time. Primedia bought them out so they could be their own competition.

They should merge em all and make a huge truck magazine...25 bucks an issue and it would take me a whole month to get through it.

Re: Best Classic truck mag. (opinion)

One thing about Classic and Custom Classic, besides a late 70's feature. Your not gonna see a 80.90 or 20 up tech, feature or DIY. Thats why both is the best. Even if they are close in content I learn and get ideas from both. I've got the last 10 yrs. And for the rest of em' to me there full of adds. Which Custom and Classic isn't. Get em' both don't think you'll regret it!!

Re: Best Classic truck mag. (opinion)

Just one item about Classic Trucks and Custom Classic Trucks magazine. If you subscribe to them you do not get the calendar in the January issue. You are loyal to them all year by subscribing but for whatever goofy reason they have the calender only comes with the newssatnd copies. My wife bought me a subscription to Classic Trucks for my birthday last May and because I didnt get the calendar I will not renew the subscription. I know that wont change anything for them but its all I can do !!!

I would think that you save enough off of the newstand price(when subscribing) that you could still afford to buy the Jan issue off the stand so you'd have your calendar.? Anywho, I subscribe to Classic trucks. I've also picked up an issue of Truck Builder from time to time.

They all have better articles than the other from month to month, but each one has great articles.

Re: Best Classic truck mag. (opinion)

Paid $18 for 2 yrs of Custom Classic and $35 for 2 yrs of Classic. And $5.99 for Jan Classic to get calender. You don't get premiems with subs. All of em' is like that..

Re: Best Classic truck mag. (opinion)

I have found that Custom ClassicTrucks does not provide the detailed info spread like "Classic Trucks" mag does.. So I prefer Classic Trucks. Not to mention Grant Peterson, one of the editors for "Classic Trucks" is a pretty nice fellow. I met him at the Goodguys Midwest Nationals this year. I guess I'm easy though, I'll like anybody that gives me a "Top Five" Truck pick!
