Pictures of Incest!
Is it incest if I sell parts to one of my good customers, so he can get his truck ready to sell to another one of my good customers?...and the new guy keeps buying more new parts. I love it when a plan comes together!
Gonna take the buckets & console out to put in a bench...with new cushion & houndstooth cover...nice! Hope I can get the buckets. |

...a family tree with no limbs
Just to think of the things that people in other parts of the country say when they talk about us Southerners, like going to a family reunion to get a date, and our family tree not having any branches....then, y'all go and start a thread about incest???? It AIN'T RIGHT.
Kissin' cousins?? Actually, it sounds like Mr. D. Lauder and Uncle Versie selling a horse back and forth to each other....both made a good living off of it until Mr. D. Lauder sold the horse at an auction.

I want to see a better pic of the blue truck in the background with the cab lights. The shorty looks good too.

It's a pig!
I don't want to show you that blue one yet! It was a stepside when I got it. Threw the bed away, it was rusted so bad. The cab & doors are more bondo than metal. The engine is shot, the exhaust is wrong & crude!...and oh those goofy cab lights...and I paid way, way too much $$$$ for it...but it is a real 71 SWB 4X4...and I just can't find them. The fleet side bed has helped the appearance, but it is still a "pig".

If you mean that red & maroon truck, I wish it was mine. It belonged/belongs to a couple good customers of mine. I am sure it is not stock colors.

I'm still learning the intricate details between special packages but recognize two things on your customers truck. The wood grain, does that indicate a 'cheyenne' package? Do the 3 point mirrors and cargo lamp also make the package. Also, the side lights look different then my 72, is that also something part of the package?
thanks for sharing the knowledge! |

Where did you get the maroon color? I'm looking at painting my truck Maroon and white, and am looking for the right maroon.
Thanks |

SUPER
This truck is a Cheyenne "Super", the loaded, top of the line, model for 71. It included the side lights, cargo lights, wood trim (even on the dash) and more.
Can't help on the Maroon color, but good auto paint supply stores will have books full of colors for you to look at. Some of the custom colors are nicer than anything that ever came from the car makers. |
