Question Heater hose???

I need a heater hose that will have a very tight fit. I got one but it falls off I hit a bump or turn the heater wide open.

Re: Heater hose???

Sounds like you need a hose clamp on it.

Re: Heater hose???

The heaters on these trucks use two different size hoses. One is 3/4" and the other is ????. Somebody else probably knows this one.

Re: Heater hose???

If turning the heater wide open causes it to fall off, then you are probably refereing to the ducts under the dash, not the water hose under the hood, right?

If so, then go to O'reilly (Advance didn't have it, don't know about autozone) and ask for 2-1/4" Defrost duct. Nice tight fit, easy to install, total cost: $3.50.

Re: Heater hose???

The old ones get brittle, stiff, and shrink up to where they wont stay on.They just need replaced.
The one you bought at Autozone, was it made for your truck or just a length that was cut?Is it too short or does it just fit too loose? If it`s too loose try a little weatherstrip adhesive along with a zip-tie,if the zip-tie isn`t holding it.
Are you and that redhead out fogging up the glass?tisk tisk tisk...

It comes in a tube, like gasket sealant. I'd probably still just go buy the $3.50 duct I suggested earier. I'm guessing you probably bought 2-1/2" instead of the 2-1/4"

That's uncalled for. The idea of this board is to get help from other truck guys. Some people just need more help than others.

70' GMC. As stated above, either stop in or call your local Autozone, ask for 2-1/4" defrost duct. They'll be able to tell you if they have it. Like I said, I got mine at O'reilly's.
