fan and fan clutch

i purchased a fan and fan clutch from flex-a-lite and as usual it dosent fit.
not only that but my water pump is a reverse rotation and the chevy dealer cant even find anything that would fit it exept a 14 inch fan off of a s-10.
im kinda confused on this one
does anyone on here have a reverse rotation water pump and if so what fan clutch did you use.

Re: fan and fan clutch

look it up under a 90 or 91 suburban (R or V body) with a 5.7. I just did and engine in one last week and it looks like it may fit. they are reverse rotation.

My pump is off a 1990 corvette it is reverse rotation but I' not sure they had a clutch, may have had electric fans as I do.

Re: fan and fan clutch

My '92 GMC has a reverse rotating water pump with a fan clutch and serpentine belt, it has a 454 engine.

Newer 350's with the serpentine belts may have reverse rotating water pumps.

Re: fan and fan clutch

I have a 19" reverse rotation flex-a-lite fan on my truck it fits fine with the factory shroud. Why are you using a 14" fan? I believe that flex-a-lite's smallest reverse rotation fan is 15" it is part number flx-5915. I have a spare 19" fan # flx-5919 it's yours for a few buck if you can use it. I believe that any good Thermal Fan Clutch will work in standard or reverse rotation.

Re: fan and fan clutch

Reverse rotation fans and fan clutches are available from CSK auto parts. Try their website and look up 1991 Chevy 1500 pick up. Here is a link.
