Re: Nasty 70 c-10 Full custom on ebay...linky

I have also seen this truck in person. (Kansas Goodguys 2007) Words can't describe the attention to detail. I don't think most people realize what it cost to "Farm-out" your project. Having a shop (of a high caliber) perform this quality of work, costs major buck$. I don't think you could build it yourself for $50k. Has anyone priced a quart of red paint and all the other products needed to apply it to your sheetmetal? Sorry,... but I'd rather have this,... than a new $50k Duramax. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Nasty 70 c-10 Full custom on ebay...linky

the bottom line is that it is one sweet truck. some people don't have the time, the facilities, the knowledge, or the talent to build something like this truck. it still does not take away from how nice it is. he might have saved 20K by doing it himself, but the time he would spent he probably made a 100K, so a guy has to do what is best for himself. he does have some talent though, because he came up with a plan and a theme to build one sweet truck. he could have could thrown that much money at it and still build an ugly ass truck, but he didn't. so he can't spell, i can and i own carwashes for a living and it does me no good.

That back window used to be a kit back in the mid-80s. A buddy of mine had one in a 72 step. Sweet looking and clean. I would think you could use the toyota truck mechanism to do the same thing now.

Re: Nasty 70 c-10 Full custom on ebay...linky

I'm a bit jealous of his resources. I wish I could dump 40 to 50 grand on my truck. I would still do it myself though (and it wouldn't come out that nice because I am learning as I go.)

I do agree that you should take the time to spell check the ad for a truck you hope to get $84,000 for (judging by the "But It Now" price.)

Actually... it's one of those things that I more appreciate than want. When mine is done I plan to drive it around. I would no more drive that truck around than I would use one of my oil paintings as a kite! For someone who wants to show a truck -- that thing is just the ticket. I know I would have to stand back so as not to drool on it.

Like everyone else -- I like the back window. I love the seat.. I want one! Something else I noticed; the booster sits flush with the firewall. That is a very cool mod .. I may have to noodle out how to do that myself.

You guys need to find better things to do then to pick apart . All you do when somebody posts up a truck is pick it apart. It is rediculous.

I'm callin BS on that. It requires more fab work than just a simple kit. Not trying to be an @$$, just callin it the way I see it. Hope someone can prove me wrong

I do a vaguely remember a roll down rear window kit for mini trucks (Nissan, Toyotas, etc) but I'm with Frizzle on one for the fullsize trucks.

I remember one for full size trucks but it was a 73-up that it was installed on. I'm not sure what the original application was.....

Re: Nasty 70 c-10 Full custom on ebay...linky

Yes, there were kits available for a roll down rear window. NO this is not one of them. Those kits used the top half of the stock rubber and rolled down in to a rather large box that went behind the seat. Guess that would exclude it from being available for 67-72 GM trucks since there is no room behind the seat unless you remove the gas tank.

C'mon guys you can do better than that...

Red is not my favorite color choice but I will say that truck is tastefully done and would also look GREAT in my garage!! I will say good luck to the seller as you hardly ever get back out what you put into a project like that......just look at most rides at Barrett Jackson where a lot of the cars that cross have major $$ in them and go for way less with no reserve. I will say I have saved pics of that truck to my pc and will reference them occasionally for ideas.

Wow, great truck. I didn't even read the description, just looking at the pictures. I spent more time reading this thread about the description.

yeah and how about an air filter housing of some sort? Did I miss something here but really, no mirrors, no wiper blades and no air filter? with 50 g's you think it might be streetable.

True on the mirrors and wipers but its apparent its a show truck, and I would venture a guess theres an air filter in that intake assembly somewhere.

Well worth $60K if you have the money. I would be hard to build that truck for any less.

I don't have any side mirrors, my wipers don't work 1/2 the time and I won't even have wipers on my blazer, but I will have a air filter or two.
