i badly need help - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

i have checked and checked again for why my rear blinkers wont come on and why my brake lights wont come on though the taillights work when i turn them on, i have all new bulbs and fuses i have tested all the wires and they are hot but nothing happens what could it be

for the blinkers, have you used a test light to verify that you get a pulsing current to the bulbs...??? if not, start back-tracking til you do... the switch (in the the steering column) could be bad...

many lighting problems are also caused by poor grounding...

Brake & signal light are on the same segment of the bulb . Check the harness along the frame for damage , a pretty common problem .

Did you replace the flasher under the dash? Also check all your frame to body grounds.

Check the connector at the back of the frame right before it gets to the last member. I had trouble with it before on mine. I had power all the way to there then nothing. You may also want to check and see if someone before you changed the wiring around. You never know why people do somethings.

Chances are your turn signal switch is bad. That or a couple wires are hashed.

Check the GROUND......GROUND GROUND GROUND.....Had a similar problem.

Ground is not likely...possable, but again, not likely.
There is obviously already a good ground...the tail lights work, and they need a ground. There is only like an amp or two difference between the tail light and brake light.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
